SkipTheDishes Calgary Brining Your Foods
I frigging love SkipTheDishes. For realsies. I can’t even count how many people I’ve told about it, even convincing one of my clients to order lunch to the office for a group of us so we didn’t have to stop working. I only wish I had thought to give people my personal referral code sooner. That’s okay though, we’ll get back to the referral thing in a minute. SkipTheDishes Calgary has saved me a lot of time.
I love to eat, and I love to find new places and try things in our city. Anyone who follows our twitter account knows that I’m a super busy mom, I prefer not to cook if I don’t have to, and I like variety.
“Food you don’t have to cook is like a hug from the inside.” – Tobes (a good friend of ours)
Our daughter is super picky and basically dislikes anything delicious, so ordering Chinese food is futile, I dislike pizza, and we’re all tired of the fast food that is on our block. Imagine my delight when I started perusing the SkipTheDishes Calgary restaurant list and I saw I could order my favourite Apple Pizza from Beer Revolution, or an order of jam, brie, and baguette from Laurier Lounge (Closed as of December 31, 2017), and have it delivered to my door. I wouldn’t have to go out in the cold, or even put on pants! (Sorry to every courier we’ve had, in the history of ever. We are not pants people.
SkipTheDishes Calgary Basics
The setup is wicked simple. Hit up their website on your desktop, or download the super handy app on your phone, and create your account. You should do that now.
Okay, so if you just created an account using the link above you now have $7 in SkipTheDishes credit waiting for you! Woohoo! You yourself can also get a referral code, refer your friends and family and co-workers and strangers. Each one will toss you $7 in SkipTheDishes Calgary credit. How sweet it is!
Now it’s time to think about what you want to eat. You can search for restaurants by name or cuisine type, or you can sort the ones available to your address by distance, how long it takes to deliver, delivery fee, or their skip score. I’m totally driven by cravings so I usually search by cuisine or I look up specific restaurants that have what I love.
Do you want fries with that?
Once you’ve chosen your restaurant, go look at their menu, make your order and then you can track the driver! It’s like Uber but for food when it comes to the GPS tracking. It’s probably one of my favourite parts of the service. I love knowing exactly where my food is.
What I love even more is that I get to pay and include my tip when I order so, when the courier arrives all I have to do is open my door and receive my carefully selected goodness. We call it “making a food happen” in our house. It’s like magic but for food.
This is our last order, which was from Thai Tai. I was dying for an Onion Wrapped Beef Sate sub and some spring and salad rolls. It was hot and delicious and they did an amazing job with all of my extra instructions for my sub!
I was just looking through my order history, and I’ve never ordered from the same restaurant twice. Talk about variety!
