It opened on October 25th 2019 and we were invited to check out a media preview of it, which was really quite incredible because not only did we see the the exhibit (which is extra incredible), but Dr. Angelina Whalley was there and did a talk giving some details about the <a href=\"https:\/\/bodyworlds.com\/plastination\/plastination-technique\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">plastination process<\/a> and how the animals came to be where they are today. She&#8217;s not only the curator of BODY WORLDS, but she&#8217;s married to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gunther_von_Hagens\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gunther von Hagens<\/a>, the inventor of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Plastination\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">plastination<\/a> technique. In addition to the medical and anatomical information about different animal bodies, including a bear, an elephant, and a yak, the catalog contains interesting articles on the topics of bones, muscles, the nervous system, and organs.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"symple-divider solid \" style=\"margin-top: 20px;margin-bottom: 20px;\" \/>\n<h3><strong>FAQ<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><strong>What is Plastination?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Invented by scientist and anatomist Dr. Gunther von Hagens in 1977, Plastination is the groundbreaking method of halting decomposition to preserve anatomical specimens for scientific and medical education. <b><\/b>Plastination is the process of extracting all bodily fluids and soluble fat from specimens, replacing them through vacuum-forced impregnation with reactive resins and elastomers, and then curing them with light, heat or certain gases, which give the specimens rigidity and permanence.<\/p>\n<h4>Can you bring children? Is It appropriate?<\/h4>\n<p>Yes absolutely, however any kids under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Animal Inside Out, like all of the BODY WORLDS exhibits, are meant to teach, to inform, to show people anatomy in a way like they&#8217;ve never seen before. No animal was harmed or killed for this exhibition.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>How long does it take to go through?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>About an hour.
