Balanchine said: \u201cIt contains everything I know about classical ballet in 13 minutes.\u201d<\/div><div class=\"symple-clear-floats\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"symple-divider dashed \" style=\"margin-top: 20px;margin-bottom: 20px;\" \/>\n<div class=\"symple-column symple-one-half symple-column-first  \">\n<strong>Act II &#8211; Yearning to Make a Difference<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Choreography: Anne Plamondon<\/li>\n<li>Followed by 20 minute intermission<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"symple-column symple-one-half symple-column-last  \">\n<p><strong>Yearning To Make A Difference<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong>Be among the first to witness the world premiere piece by Montreal choreographer, the formidable Anne Plamondon. Based on an emotional event involving the death of a young girl that shook the province of Quebec, the piece represents society&#8217;s responsibility in a time of tragedy and how small gestures can really affect someone&#8217;s life in a beautiful way. Working with Alberta Ballet dancers, Anne explores movement that expresses how individuals have the power to make a positive impact in the greatest time of need.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"symple-clear-floats\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"symple-divider dashed \" style=\"margin-top: 20px;margin-bottom: 20px;\" \/>\n<div class=\"symple-column symple-one-half symple-column-first  \">\n<p><strong>Act III &#8211; Petal\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Choreography: Helen Pickett<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"symple-column symple-one-half symple-column-last  \">\n<p><strong>Petal<\/strong><br \/>\nHelen Pickett\u2019s original inspiration for<em> Petal<\/em> came from the vibrancy of a Gerber daisy. As the ballet evolved color remained a critical element of the work, but the visceral movement and relationships between the dancers came to reflect the vigor of wildflowers rather than a hothouse bloom. \u201cThe eight dancers who invade, inhabit and constantly transform the stage space, perform as if they had been tossed a do-or-die challenge and are determined to transcend their training,\u201d observed Allan Ulrich of SF Gate. Bathed in the light of hot yellows, pinks, and oranges the dancers\u2019 kinetic energy reflects the vitality of spring.\u00a0 There is also a deeper underlying connection between them expressed through the intimacy of human touch: a gentle caress around someone\u2019s neck or along someone\u2019s neck or inner thigh.\u00a0 &#8220;Intimacy is such an important part of a human life &#8211; without it, we wither,\u201d says Pickett. \u201cLet&#8217;s celebrate this burst of color, this sound, this touch.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"symple-clear-floats\"><\/div>\n<h2 id=\"win-tickets-alberta-ballet-unleashed\"><strong>Win Tickets (CONTEST ENDED)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>We&#8217;re giving away 3x pairs of tickets! 2 on FB, 2 on IG and 2 on our Discord server.
