We don&#8217;t own a dog, however the new\u00a0Connaught dog park is really close to us, and we just happened to be one street over, so we decided to stop by and grab some pictures and video to share.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Located: 11th street and 14th avenue SW<\/li>\n<li>Google map:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/fm82teCdUjK2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/fm82teCdUjK2<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are numerous benches, lots of grass, woodchips, pine trees, shade, and even a 3 tier water fountain! It&#8217;s located right next door to St. Stephen&#8217;s Anglican Church, and across the street from Niko&#8217;s Pizza, and Galaxie Diner.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/crackmacs.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Connaught-Dog-Park-Fountains.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2148\" src=\"https:\/\/crackmacs.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Connaught-Dog-Park-Fountains.jpg\" alt=\"Connaught Dog Park Fountains\" width=\"600\" height=\"801\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Big Dogs<\/h2>\n<p>The main entrance for the big dogs has a pen\/airlock to prevent them escaping while you&#8217;re trying to enter or leave.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s plenty of seating, and lots of room for them to play in the grass. The gates are not close to each other, so there shouldn&#8217;t be any issues getting close. Unless they can jump the fence? They even provided a sweet foot pedal garbage can! You don&#8217;t even have to touch the thing, just step on it and insert waste. The system works.<\/p>\n<p>These garbage cans should be everywhere, not just limited to dog parks. I&#8217;d much rather step on something than have to touch a door flap. It&#8217;s slow and a little boring \ud83d\ude1b but shows the entire park and all of it&#8217;s facilities.<\/p>\n<p>If I had a dog I would be taking them to this park constantly, it&#8217;s a really nice\u00a0little space.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"A tour of the new Connaught Calgary dog park\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_F771nK_SIg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Conclusion<\/h2>\n<p>It&#8217;s reported by the Calgary Herald that this park cost $380,000 to put together.
