At present time there are 11 retail cannabis stores open in Calgary, with several more opening up each week. How is it though? Buying recreational weed in a retail store? Retail cannabis is such an interesting thing to think about, as it&#8217;s been against the law for so long. I imagine police are having an awkward time with legalization haha!<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s it like buying recreational retail cannabis? I decided to go and buy some to find out. Because why not? Nice and bland with no advertising or signage other than the Queen of Bud logo. This weed store is located just across the street from Sun Alta c-train station. I walked up, opened the door and went inside.<\/p>\n<p>It did feel a little weird to be honest, even though it&#8217;s legal now, it still FEELS like you&#8217;re doing something illegal going in a place like this. After going through the front door you&#8217;re presented with a large fancy looking room. Everything was white. Some guy asked to see my ID, then I made my way to the main room with the counter to order from. The first two things I picked out were sold out, so I opted to go with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 grams of All Kush (hybrid of Indica and Sativa). $23.18<\/li>\n<li>2 grams of La Strada (Sativa). $22.00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>They rang it up, I paid with debit, and then they handed me a small black boutique bag and then I left. This was the first retail <a href=\"https:\/\/crackmacs.ca\/calgary-cannabis\/stores\/where-to-buy-weed-in-calgary\/\" rel=\"\">weed store in Calgary<\/a> I&#8217;ve been to, but I imagine they&#8217;re all a very similar experience. We live in interesting times. Hopefully this blog post helps encourage someone to go out and purchase cannabis.
