Jollibee Calgary Is Now Open!
You’ve surely heard of Jollibee before, yes? They recently opened a restaurant in Edmonton where a guy camped outside for 3 days just to be first in line to experience their food. This simple fast food chain is world famous and extremely popular in the Philippines, and highly sought after everywhere else due to how good it is. Their Jolly Crispy Chicken, Palabok Fiesta, Jolly Spaghetti, and Mango Peach Pies are the things legends are made of! People have been waiting for a Jollibee to open in Calgary for years, and the time has finally come! Jollibee officially opened their Calgary doors on September 21st 2019, which of course had a huge line up of people already waiting.

Why is their food famous? A lot of people grew up eating Jolibee regularly, so they have a connection to the flavours. It’s nostalgic, in a way. A piece of home a lot of people may be missing.
Full disclosure transparency as always: this is a sponsored post by Jollibee, however everything shared here is our own opinion.
The Pre-Opening Awesomeness
It was expected people would line up (at least a little) before they opened, so Jollibee had some sweet stuff lined up for the first people in line.
- First 50 people in line spending $25 or more would get a free 1 year supply of Jolly Crispy Chicken! (1 bucket/mo for 12 months.)
- First 50 people rocking a creative #ItsOurTurn sign would receive a coveted Jollibee Funko Pop! figure
- First 300 people to make a $25 food purchase would receive a Jollibee Plush Doll
A lot of people had been waiting for Jolibee to open here for a very long time. Finally #ItsYourTurn Calgary 🙂
There was, what seemed to be, a million people working like crazy to get all of the orders out. Everyone was in such great spirits too, you can see it in their faces. Jolibee opening in Calgary provided a number of local people with jobs so that’s awesome.
The Jolibee Menu
Jolly Crispy Chicken (6 pc)
As you can tell from the photo, it was really crunchy. We really dig crunchy chicken! Juicy, tender, it was wonderful. Nom nom.
Jolly Spaghetti
It’s actually a little bit sweet tasting which took me by surprise, but in a good way. Not what I was expecting at all but I really liked it. It comes with hot dog slices and grated cheese melted on top.
Palabok Fiesta
Another surprise was the Palabok Fiesta – because I had never heard of this before as it’s a more traditional Filipino dish (and we’ve never been to the Philippines), so I didn’t know what to expect. It was really savoury and you should try it. It’s like nothing I’ve had in Calgary before! Bihon noodles topped with Jollibee’s signature palabok sauce, and premium meat toppings.
Peach Mango Pie
So good so good so good eat the peach mango pie! You will understand after you bite into it. So incredibly good.
Pineapple Refresher
It was so good and went very well with the other offerings. It;s so rare that pineapple anything is on a menu, so this was a delight. I drank two. I regret zero things.
Conclusion
After trying the food, I can now understand why so many people really appreciate it, seek it out, wait in line for three days for it. The Peace Mango Pie… so good. The Jolly Crispy Chicken… so so good. Worth the wait.
