Summary
Air fryers are super popular and after reading the endless amount of positive things about them whenever people talk about cooking, I went and bought the COSORI 5.8QT air fryer from Amazon. I took a risk and didn’t do much research, just bought the most popular air fryer on Amazon after reading a few reviews. The model of COSORI air fryer I purchased comes with 11 digital presets, is extremely easy to clean, it turns off automatically when finished cooking, plus many other features and functions. This is a kitchen appliance every person should own. You’ll save time and money but you’ll also end up using it all the time due to the convenience. COSORI makes an excellent air fryer. It’s affordable, super easy to use, efficient on power, and it doesn’t take up much counter space. It can’t entirely replace a full sized conventional oven, but it sure comes close.
Below is my review, and lots of food photos.
The COSORI 5.8QT air fryer has a small counter top footprint, slightly shorter than a typical microwave, though a little taller. It doesn’t weigh very much so it can be quickly and easily moved or stored in the corner, under the sink or on a shelf. It has a frying basket which comes apart as you can see. All in all it’s a pretty compact unit and well built and fits in nicely with the other appliances. As for noise, it’s not whisper quiet but it’s not super loud either. It sounds like a fan.
I purchased the one in black but this model of air fryer also comes in red and white. The red and white versions also come with a dual-layer metal rack and 5 skewers at no extra cost. COSORI also offers two other models of this air fryer, a smaller 3.7QT version, and a 5.8QT version with WIFI support + a phone app.

Features
Healthier Fried Food
Air fryers use very little to no oil whatsoever to cook food, so right away they’re a healthier option than most traditional cooking methods, like needing to use lots of butter, or frying foods in vegetable oil.
100 Recipe Cookbook Included
This COSORI air fryer comes with a detailed cook book with 100 recipes of things you can make with it, which is especially helpful if you’re new to air fryers and don’t really know what to make. If you’re wanting to cook something that isn’t listed in the recipe book, just Google it, there is a LOT of information and blog posts out there for cooking with air fryers.

11 Food Preset Buttons
The air fryer comes with 11 food presets, with temperature and cook time pre-determined, and automatic shut off once it’s finished. The temps and times will vary depending what it is you’re cooking, but these are a pretty good general option for most foods. Steak, Chicken, Seafood, Shrimp, Bacon, Frozen Foods, French Fries, Vegetables, Root Vegetables, Bread, and Desserts. The 12th button is to pre-heat the air fryer.
Some of the presets also have a SHAKE REMINDER, which will stop the air fryer half way through the cycle and alert you to shake the basket to ensure even cooking on all sides.
Cleaning
The COSORI 5.8QT air fryer is very easy to clean due to it’s modern non-stick PFOA-free coating. You can keep it clean with hot tap water by giving it a rinse right after you’re done using it. If the food leftovers are baked on, you may need a little dish soap. The inner and outer baskets are fully dishwasher safe but it’s so easy to keep clean with just hot water that you’ll probably just do that. Also, the heat of the air fryer will easily dislodge and keep food from staying caked on. I hate doing the dishes so I’m glad I don’t have to worry about cleaning the air fryer.
To clean the air fryer
- With it turned off, remove the frying basket
- Don’t separate the baskets yet
- Run under hot water to remove left over food bits, add soap if needed
- Slosh the water around, dump
- Separate the baskets, rinse
Food Photos
Below are photos of foods I’ve cooked using the air fryer, before and after. It’s important to note that I am a terrible cook (absolutely the worst) so it’s a miracle in itself that I am able to make any of these things successfully. Air fryers and their pre-set buttons have opened up a new culinary world for me.
- Chicken Breast
- Frozen Hashbrown Patties
- Mini Frozen Pizza
- Shake ‘n Bake Chicken
- Mini Roasted Potatoes
- Beyond Meat Sausages
- Chicken Breast With Franks Redhot
- Steak Bites
With some salt and too much pepper. The ‘chicken’ default setting of 25 minutes worked beautifully.
At 380 degrees I cooked them 5 minutes, stopped and flipped them, 5 more minutes. Turned out great.
Mini frozen pizzas cook up great, but you can only do one at a time. 380 degrees for 10 minutes.
It gets a little windy in there!
Had to try the Canadian classic, Shake ‘N Bake on some chicken legs. Using the chicken preset 25 minutes at 380 degrees, turned out great!
Mini potatoes coated in olive oil, pepper, and sea salt.
This was my first time having Beyond Meat Sausages. Made entirely with plants, they’re designed to look, taste and feel like beef or pork. They cooked up beautifully in the air fryer, though I’m not a huge fan of them.
Two chicken breasts covered in Franks Redhot buffalo wing sauce, with some salt and pepper. Cooked using the chicken preset at 25 minutes 380 degrees, turned out great! Air fryers cook chicken up beautifully. Turned out juicy, too, as you can see from the photo.
Beef stew chunks covered in Franks Redhot buffalo wing sauce, salt and pepper. Cooked at 380 for 5 minutes, stopped and shaken, 7 more minutes. I like burnt ends.
COSORI Air Fryer Accessories Kit

- 1 x pizza pan
- 1 x metal holder
- 1 x multi-purpose rack with 5 skewers

Overall Verdict
[usrlist “Product quality:5” “Price:4” “Easy of use:5” “Noise:2” “Value for the price:4” “Overall value: 5”]Buying an air fryer was something I should have done a long time ago. They come in all shapes, sizes and price points but the time you’ll save is very worth it. An air fryer would make a great gift for someone who lives alone, in a small space like an apartment or just for someone who loves to cook.
Air fryer cons:
- You can’t cook large food items in it, like a turkey
- If feeding a large family/group, an oven would be better
- There’s no window, no way to watch the food cook without pausing/opening it
