“On A Small Table At The Centre, A Monster Slouched, Waits To Be Born.”
Frankenstein, Mary Shelley’s famous Gothic-thriller, is celebrating it’s 200th birthday and the Alberta Ballet is bringing it to Calgary and Edmonton just in time for Halloween! Dress up in your spookiest costumes and head to the Jubilee Auditorium for what is shaping up to be a macabre ballet horror fit for those who enjoy a grown up night of scares and thrills. Choreographer Jean Grand-Maître warns that this may not be a production suitable for the whole family or even the faint of heart. His vision for his first-ever horror ballet is shaping up to be terrifyingly gory, which may be too overwhelming for younger children.
Sounds fun, doesn’t it?
This incredible world premiere mixes Shelley’s timeless work with state-of-the-art technology , a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack, and the gorgeous dancing of the Alberta Ballet. It runs October 23 – 26 in Calgary and October 31 to November 02 in Edmonton at the Jubilee Auditorium and tickets are on sale now!
