OMG, CELEBRITY SHOES! at Calgary Expo
Alright, you’re going to think this is a little weird, but hear me out. At Calgary Expo recently I, Mrs CM and a friend were shooting pictures of the panels and stuff, and during a stint of boredom, I started taking pictures of shoes. It gave me something new to focus on, so in addition to their faces, I started trying to shoot their shoes. Plus it tells an interesting story, nobody has done a shoespective before. Celebrity shoes are kind of interesting in themselves. What does Stan Lee choose to wear?
Before you ask, no, no shoe fetish here, just thought this would be fun to share. No foot fetish either. Really don’t understand that one, but hey no judgement!
While I wasn’t able to get all of the celebrities shoes, I did get quite a few. Click here to see all of our Calgary Expo 2016 photos on Facebook.
If YOU have a celebrity shoe fetish.. well, aren’t you lucky! Here we go!
Pictures of Celebrities Shoes
I’ve also included a little bit of info about whom the shoes are attached to.
The guy from the Cineplex pre-show, and a ton of Calgary Expo interviews. While he isn’t a ‘movie celebrity’, he was on stage with them a bunch so what the hell, now he’s on a blogpost about celebrity shoes. Making momma proud! 😉 Catch him on the twitters here.
He is best known for playing Gadreel / Ezekiel on Supernatural, and Helo on Battlestar Galactica. He has been in a number of other TV shows, and is from Whitehorse, Yukon.
He wears sneakers. For sneaking, probably.
Steve is a voice actor, having voiced pretty much everything in every video game ever and tons of anime, cartoons and TV shows. Check out his IMDB page, I don’t think he sleeps. He holds guinness records for this stuff.
Stan Lee. I don’t really need to say anything else.
Unfortunately, this is the last time Stan will ever be at the Calgary Expo. His last ever visit to Canada will be in September, at the Toronto Fan Expo. Of all the celebrity shoes I was going to shoot, his were the ones I looked forward to most.
Sam has written a book, works at Bioware, and has interviewed the crap out of Calgary Expo guests. Not sure where she gets her energy from but it seems to have an unlimited supply.
Robin Lord Taylor
He was so excited to come out and see the crowd waiting for him. He’s been in a few movies, however is most widely known for playing The Penguin on Gotham. His first time at Calgary Expo.
Robert Duncan McNeill
The one and only Tom Paris from Star Trek Voyager. He’s actually been directing a lot of stuff recently, rather than acting.
Phil has been in so much stuff, but we love him most for Mad TV as the UPS guy. He did do a swell job of getting his head blown off in Pulp Fiction, though. He has done a ton of voice acting work too. The judge in family guy? totally Phil.
Chewbacca himself. Out of all the celebrity shoes I saw, his were the most interesting. His shoes are totally custom, because he’s so tall. His height sure has wrecked his body though 🙁 he’s had double knee replacements already, mostly uses a scooter to get around. Was a pleasure getting to listen to him, so many stories.
Mostly a voice actor, he was also in General Hospital. Did you know that show has been running since 1963? crazy. He’s done voices in tons of video games and cartoons. It was a pleasure to catch his panel, just a swell guy.
She could legit kick my ass. Lea is most widely known for playing Big Boo on Orange Is The New Black, she was hilarious. Cool shoes too. Also she played Helga Phugly on The Oblongs! Great show.
Keegan Connor Tracy
From Breaker High to Battlestar Galactica, Keegan has been in a number of TV shows, including Bates Motel! She was Miss Watson. Rawr.
Judge Dredd. Bones. He’s from New Zealand. He named one of his sons Indiana and calls him Indy. Respek.
John sings, dances, acts, you name it. He’s best known for being in Torchwood, and Arrow. He’s a riot. Haven’t seen Lowry since the Expo…
Loved his advice on how you need to deal with people being ignorant of LGBTQ rights sometimes:
“Go fuck yourself”
Can’t wait to see him again, hope he comes back to Calgary Expo or just randomly shows up at my apartment for some reason.
Joey from NSYNC and My Big Fat Greek wedding. He was great, very down to earth, despite being world famous. He’s opening a hotdog store in Florida called Fatones. Hope I get to try his tubed meat someday.
Flaca, from Orange is the new Black. One time she was homeless. Another time she was in a coma. She speaks fluent English and Spanish, and has a poppin’ instagram account.
Best known from Battlestar Galactica. (Haven’t seen it, probably should binge watch it one of these days..). She has also been in a crapload of other TV shows.
Garrett Wang and Connor Trinneer
Ensign Harry Kim from Voyager, and Commander Charles ‘Trip’ Tucker III from Enterprise.
They spoke about the Star Trek life, fun experiences they’ve had, and Dildo, Newfoundland. Not going to elaborate on that, use your imagination ( ͡⚆ ͜ʖ ͡⚆)
Loras Tyrell on Game of Thrones. His panel was pretty chill, he spoke about what life as Finn Jones is like, how he travels, that sort of stuff. His real name is Terence, or Terry.. which he changed to avoid confusion with Terry Jones of Monty Python.
Daniel is from cracked.com, has written a book and has done 2 AmAs on reddit! I’m jealous, he got to interview Stan Lee. Pretty jealous of his sexy boot picture too actually. He writes aaaalllloooottttt. Here’s his blog.
Playing Superman in 2006 really set off Brandon’s career, starring in a few movies and a whole bunch of TV shows. He’s played a character called The Atom (Ray Palmer) across Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow to name a few. Also he was that dick Todd the Vegan in Scott Pilgrim vs the World.
At Expo he mentioned being a gamer, and name dropped Shining Force being one of his favourite games, back on Sega Genesis. MINE TOO! Loved that game so much, and Shining Force 2. I love you now Brandon.
Her panel was great, funny. Most notably she was in Penny Dreadful as Lily, Rose Tyler on Doctor Who and Belle from Secret Diary of a Call Girl. She also sings! Billie also has two sons, one of whom is named Eugene Pip, which is rad cool and I wish it was my name.
Currently a host on InnerSpace, Teddy has been hosting panels at the Calgary Expo for a couple years now. He used to star in Never Ever Do This At Home and was also on You Can’t Do That On Television (16 episodes!). He’s pretty chill. Fun Teddyfact: He and Sam Maggs are a couple.
Mister Fry has been part of the Canadian TV landscape since he was just a wee lad, first appearing in Are You Afraid of the Dark? in 1994. He currently hosts InnerSpace on Space with Teddy and Morgan, as well as a weekly YouTube channel called 5onFry. He has been coming to Calgary Expo for a couple years now.
NICE HAIR THOUGH
The rest of our Calgary Expo 2016 photos are on Facebook, of the celebrities that don’t have shoe pictures, such as the lovely Jesus here (Tom Payne).
Had a great time. Thanks for reading and looking at our weird celebrity shoes.
Look forward to Calgary Expo 2017!
